I am alive, if you were worried. I am doing well, enjoying life and all of the challenges it continues to throw at me. How have you all been? I miss you.
I have been quite busy, even though it doesn't really feel like it. I am in my last quarter at college so I will have my bachelor's degree in Health & Wellness very soon which is exciting, and I also began a new certificate course from the Institute of Integrated Nutrition, where I am learning how to be a health coach. And I recently have been working on my new adventure of starting up my own business called Tayla Anne Holistic Health & Fitness Coaching, where I offer holistic coaching on the topics of health and fitness.
Last fall I received my personal training certificate so that is the basis of the business, except it is an online, personalized program. The health coaching is still in the works, since the integrative nutrition program is a year long course, but that will be a 3 or 6 month program people can order, which will incorporate all aspects of health and the fitness part as well. The main focus of the program is to figure out where the individual is in their life, and provide a personalized journey of health and fitness for them. No one diet or life style is right for everyone, which is why the program is so individualized.
You can check out my website for more information on the programs here: TaylaAnneCoaching.com
I have also been recording my workouts on YouTube so you can check that out too if you want: YouTube
I also wanted to inform you guys about this new adventure because it's not just about fitness, but has an overall focus on well-being and health. I know eating disorders are so engulfing and they can consume your whole life, which is why I believe there needs to be another interest in your life that can steer you in a different direction. For me, it was fitness and weightlifting, and for you and others, it might be something totally different, but that is the purpose of the programs I offer. Together we can figure out where you are suffering the most and try to find a new alternative to cope with those issues. Even the fitness training programs can provide an opportunity for you to try something new, feel strong, confident, and grow your self-worth and self-love.
I wrote a whole article on how weightlifting changed my life here if you want to read more: How Weight Training Saved my Life
But anyways, other than that adventure, I've been the same. Home for the summer and working as a care giver with my Mom (she's a live-in care giver). It's been alright. The gentleman we take care of is in the dying process so it's hard to watch him go down hill, but it's interesting too because I've never been near anyone who has died and the process is eye-opening.
I am hiking a lot with Ben. We are trying to get the New Hampshire 4,000 footers done and are close. The 4,000 footers are 48 mountains in NH that are over 4,000 feet. It's been nice and also rewarding to be outside and in the fresh air. Ben only has one semester left in college as well, so we will be out on our own very soon. We are waiting to see where he'll get a job so we can decide where to live and such, but I'm hoping to stay around NH.
xoxo
